17-Year-Old Surrenders, Suspected of Gunning Down Sleeping Man on Transit Bus

A 17-year-old boy wanted for fatally shooting a 21-year-old man on a King County Metro Transit bus in Washington state last month turned himself in on Monday to face murder charges.

Miguel Rivera Dominguez surrendered to police “without incident,” the King County Sheriff’s Office said.

Detecives say Rivera Dominguez shot Marcel Da’jon Wagner as he appeared to be sleeping on the bus in White Center on October 3. Wagner was pronounced dead at the scene.

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said that the suspect had been charged with first degree murder and second degree unlawful possession of a a firearm, KING reported.

Detectives say Rivera Dominguez pumped five rounds into Wagner’s head and neck at “point blank range,” according to charging documents. About 15 other passengers were on the bus at the time but were not injured.

Investigators identified the 17-year-old as the suspect on October 16 and launched a search for him.
