Six Children With Feces-Stained Faces Found Living in Filthy Texas Home

A Texas woman was arrested last week after her six children were reportedly found living in substandard conditions.

On November 11, Brownsville police responded to multiple reports about unattended children in the parking lot at Tropical Garden Apartments. Responding officers discovered three of Samantha Lee Abrego’s children running naked and barefoot in the rain, according to KVEO.

Police spokesperson investigator Abril Luna said Abrego’s six children range in age from two to eight. Officers who went to Abrego’s home located three more children — who apparently had dry feces caked on their faces, KRGV reported.

Police claimed that there was feces on the walls and couches and the children looked as if they had not showered in a long time. They also stated that the home reeked of feces.

Police also noted that Abrego seemed “sluggish” as if she had just woken up.

Abrego was charged with child endangerment with criminal neglect. Her six children are reportedly in her mother’s care.

Abrego’s bond was set at $36,000.
