Police Arrest 2 in Connection With Woman Found Dead in Duffel Bag in August

San Francisco police have arrested two people in connection with the death of a 37-year-old woman whose body was found stuffed into a duffle back in Golden Gate Park in August.

A dog walker found the body just outside the grounds of the Outside Lands music festival as it was wrapping up, as CrimeOnline reported. She was pronounced dead on the scene, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified her as Kelly Koike, who was homeless and suffered from mental illness.

The medical examiner initially ruled Koike’s death suspicious but said the cause of death was “undetermined,” KPIX reported.

Police said they arrested Alexaander Madden, 26, and Emilia Beckhusen, 33, on November 2, charging them with unlawful disposal for human remains and conspiracy.

Detectives said the case remains open and active and asked anyone with information to call the SFPD 24-hour tip line at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD.
