Texas Man Assaults Pregnant Girlfriend for Communicating With Her Ex-Husband

A Texas man was arrested after he allegedly punched his pregnant girlfriend in the face, multiple times, because she communicated with her ex-husband about their divorce and children.

Police records say Christopher Treyvon Smith, 30, went to his girlfriend’s house to discuss the message, telling the 20-year-old she should not have contacted her ex-husband, WOAI reported.

He punched her in the faced several times, then grabbed her neck, pinned her against the nightstand, and continued to assault her.

The victim was injured on the lip, shoulder, rib case, and legs.

She told officers that Smith sprayed water on the bathroom room floor after he finished beating her and told her to tell her parents she slipped and fell.

Smith was charged with assault of a pregnant person and felon in possession of a firearm, according to court records. He’s being held on a $90,000 bond.
