Texas Teen Indicted for Stabbing Death of Teen in Restaurant Parking Lot

A Texas teenager has been indicted for the fatal stabbing of another teen in April.

An arrest affidavit says that Jesus San Miguel, 18, and Joshua Eugene Kinnaman, also 18, went to a San Antonio restaurant across the street from John Jay High School, where Kinnaman was a student, together on April 4, KSAT reported.

Surveillance video showed the two sat in a booth and ordered food. At some point, San Miguel said something inaudible to Kinnaman, who replied, “I’ll kick your a** right now,” the affidavit says.

“Let’s go,” San Miguel replied, and the two got up to leave the restaurant, “smiling while doing so.” An outdoor camera captured Kinnaman “aggressively shove” San Miguel from behind, causing him to drop his drink. San Miguel then took off his backpack and pulled out what appeared to be a lock-blade knife as Kinnaman approached, swinging at him with his fists.

San Miguel lunged at Kinnaman after a few swings, stabbing him in the torso. Kinnaman went back inside the restaurant for hlep while San Miguel fled.

Kinnaman was taken to a hospital, where he died.

San Miguel was arrested two days after the stabbing and charged with murder. The indictment was handed up on Thursday. It’s not clear if he was also a student.

If convicted, San Miguel could face life in prison.
