SC Couple Charged With Quadruple Murder of Family Members

A South Carolina couple has been arrested and charged with four counts of murder in the slayings of four family members eight years ago.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said that Amy Vilardi and her husband, Rosmore “Ross” Vilardi have been charged with the murders of Cathy Scott, Amy’s mother, and Scott’s husband, Mike Scott, Mike Scott’s mother, Barbara Scott, and Cathy Scott’s mother, Violet Taylor, who were all found dead on November 2, 2015, WYFF reported.

The coroner said at the time there were no signs of forced entry or a struggle in the home and that the victims were likely killed on October 31.

“God bless this family. They have been through so much and they have waited so long,” Anderson County Sheriff Chad McBride said.

Amy Vilardi told WYFF in 2015 that she went to check on her family and found the bodies.

“When I went to knock on the back door, the door just pushed open so I walked in and it was dark and I just flipped on the light and there they were. They were just, there were there,” she said.

The Vilardis lived in a separate house on the same property.

McBride said in 2017 that investigators had identified suspects in the case but did not name them. The Vilardis were named “persons of interest.”

The Vilardis are being held without bond in a court appearance on Saturday. Bond must be set by a circuit court in South Carolina, and that’s unlikely to happen until a February 20, 2024, hearing.

The Scott and Taylor families have asked for no bond in the case, while Amy Vilardi has asked to be released to see her children.

The Vilardis were brought from their home in Columbia to Anderson County to stand trial. No further information was released.
