Child Rapist Flees Texas Prison Farm With His Mom Behind the Wheel of Escape Vehicle

Texas authorities are looking for a convicted child rapist who escaped from a state prison on Sunday.

Robert Yancy Jr. was serving a life sentence without parole after he was convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a child in May 2022. The jury in that case deliberated for less than two hours, according to the Victoria Advocate.

Yancy, 39, slipped away from a prison farm in Brazoria County on Sunday and was last seen in a a white Nissan Versa, which was located Monday morning, the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies also said they had arrested two people in connection with his escape.

According to KXXV, Yancy’s mother, Lenor Priestle, was driving the vehicle, and was arrested. It’s not clear who the second person was.

The vehicle was found in Victoria County, where Yancy committed his crimes, leading police to believe he is no longer in Brazoria County, according to KRIV.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice said Yancy was wearing a black beanie and a black sweater when he left the prison farm in the Nissan. They cautioned anyone who sees him to stay clear and contact local law enforcement.
