19-Year-Old Dad Charged With Breaking Multiple Bones in 4-Month-Old Son

A 19-year-old Texas father has been jailed after he allegedly admitted to months of horrific abuse of his 4-month-old son because the child wouldn’t stop crying.

Daniel Aguilera and the child’s mother initially brought the infant to a hospital on December 13, KSAT reported. The baby had six rib fractures and a skull fracture, according to an affidavit.

Aguilera told hospital staff that he tripped on a blanket while carrying the child and fell on him. According to the affidavit, staff thought the injuries “reasonably explained” but called police because of hospital protocol.

A week later, Christus Children’s Hospital Center for Miracles reviewed x-rays taken and found fractures in both legs along with a clavicle fracture and said the injuries were in various stages of healing.

Aguilera then admitted to Child Protective Services that injured the child when he was frustrated because the baby wouldn’t stop crying. He said that several times in September he bend the child’s legs backwards and squeezed them and that twice in October he squeezed the child tightly until he heard a “pop” and he stopped crying.

He told CPS that they brought the baby to the hospital in December because he hit the boy in the back of the head multiple times because he wouldn’t stop crying.

Aguilera was booked in the Bexar County Jail on four counts of injury to a child with bonds totaling $300,000.
