Gunmen Open Fire on Car, Kill Woman Inside, Wound Man

A woman is dead and man seriously wounded after gunmen approached their stopped car in Queens Tuesday night and opened fire.

Clarisa Burgo, 28, was shot in the head and pronounced dead on the scene, WPIX reported. The 39-year-old man in the vehicle was hit several times in the torso, according to police, who said they do not believe Burgo was the target.

Surveillance video showed the the shooting. In it, two men wearing hoodies cross Liberty Avenue near 127th Street in South Richmond Hill just before midnight, while a third man paces back and forth. All three approach the car and begin shooting.

The wounded man drove two miles to a police precinct in Jamaica, not a hospital, and told officers they had been shot. Burgo was pronounced dead, and the man was taken to a hospital.

No one has been arrested, but police said a dark colored sedan was seen leaving the shooting scene.
