Georgia Deputy Killed During High Speed Chase When He’s Hit By Another Cop

An out of control high speed chase resulted in the death of a Georgia police officer who was struck by another officer’s vehicle in Alabama.

Police were reportedly chasing an alleged stolen vehicle at around 2 a.m. Thursday, beginning in Georgia along Interstate 85, WTVM reported. The chase crossed into Chambers County, Alabama, where the crash took place.

The Lanett, Alabama, officer who hit the Georgia officer has been placed on administrative leave while the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency investigates the incident.

The driver of the allegedly stolen vehicle is in custody. According to WRBL, at least seven law enforcement agencies were involved in the early morning chase. WAGA reported that the Georgia officer was a Coweta County deputy. He was identified as Eric Minix.
