North Carolina Woman Still Using Boyfriend’s Debit Card, Driving His Truck After Allegedly Killing Him

A North Carolina woman was arrested overnight and charged with murder of her boyfriend.

Edgecombe County deputies found Alexander Atkinson, 60, dead in his home in Macclesfield on Thursday during a welfare check. Authorities said he appeared to have been dead “for some time” and had been assaulted.

The sheriff’s office identified Vicki Renee Russell, no age given, as the suspect and launched a search for her. She “was still using his debit card and had been driving his truck,” investigators said.

She was found early Saturday morning and jailed without bond at the Edgecombe County Jail.

WCTI said she was located in Raleigh and has been charged with first degree murder.
