An Iowa man was arrested Tuesday in Colorado and charged with first degree murder in the death of his wife.

Jami Kasemeier was found dead in the Waukon, Iowa, home on Monday, the Iowa Department of Public Safety said.

Waukon Police said the suspect was located and arrested in Loveland, Colorado, nearly 900 miles from the crime scene.

No further details about the murder were provided, including when detectives believe it took place.

According to  KGAN,  Brandon Kasemeier had been charged multiple times in the past with domestic violence against his wife, but the charges were dropped.
