Rachel Morin: Podcast Helps Bring Reward in Mom’s Unsolved Murder to $35K

A reward for last year’s unsolved murder of a Maryland woman was increased to $35,000 on Monday.

WBAL reported that husband and wife Josh Thomas and Kendall Rae of the “Mile Higher” podcast donated $5,000 to the fund. The popular true-crime content creators covered Morin’s murder last month.

No arrests have been made in the slaying of Morin, 37, whose body was found in a drainage ditch on the Ma and Pa trail on August 6, a day after her boyfriend reported her missing.

DNA from Morin’s crime scene linked her suspected killer to an unsolved home invasion and assault of a young girl which occurred in Los Angeles, California, in March. The suspect in those crimes remains unidentified even after police publicized surveillance stills of him home leaving a Los Angeles home in March.

According to WBAL, the suspect is believed to be 5 foot, 9 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds, and is in his early-to-mid 20s.

Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler told The Baltimore Banner that detectives traveled to Chicago, Illinois, amid their investigation. According to him, it remains unclear where Morin’s killer may live.
