Toddler Dead After Finding Loaded, Unsecured Gun in House and Shooting Himself in the Face

A Georgia man has been charged with murder after a toddler shot himself in the face.

DeKalb County police said that Antoine Jordan left his gun loaded and unsecured, and the 3-year-old boy found it, WSB reported.

When officers arrived at the home at about 7 a.m. Saturday, they learned that the child’s mother had taken the boy to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police did not describe the relationship between Jordan and the boy. Jordan was charged with second degree murder and second degree child cruelty.

Police said several people were detained for questioning.
