Toddler Dead After Fight Between Dad and Grandmother; Cops Investigating

A toddler is dead in Georgia after a father beat the baby’s grandmother and took the child overnight.

Police were called to a home in Macon just after midnight and found the woman, who was taken to a hospital for treatment while they set out to find the man, WMAZ reported.

The found the car about three hours later, and about seven miles away. The father was holding the unresponsive 20-month-old child inside the car. The little girl, 20-month-old Bella Jordan, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley told WMAZ that the baby appeared to have been beaten and possibly stabbed, but an autopsy would confirm the cause and manner of death.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said that two people have been taken into custody for questioning, but no charges have been laid.
