American Man Rapes & Murders Young Tourist While Pushing Her Friend off Germany’s ‘Cinderella’ Castle Cliff in Filmed Attack

On Monday, an Illinois man jailed in Germany confessed to raping and strangling a woman last year in an attack that also nearly killed the slain woman’s friend.

Troy Bohling, 31, met Eva Liu and Kelsey Chang, 21 and 22, on a hiking trail near Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany. The Telegraph reported that Bohling lured the women to another area under the guise of showing them a perfect spot for selfies.

“That’s enough adventure for today,” Bohling told Chang and Liu while offering to show them the spot, per the Daily Mail.

Instead of acting as their guide, Bohling took the two women to the location so he could push Liu to the ground and rape her. Bohling pushed Chang off a 165-foot slope so he could continue to rape Liu and strangle her with a belt  — all while filming the act, according to The Telegraph.

The news outlet reported that a group of hikers stumbled upon the assault, leading Bohling to hurl Liu off the same ravine. Liu landed next to Chang, who told an emergency dispatcher that Liu was “gasping.” Liu was airlifted to the hospital but she died from her injuries later that night.

The Telegraph reported that a tree had broken Chang’s fall, presumably saving her life.

The Daily Mail reported that a search of Bohling’s cellphone and laptop uncovered illicit images of his younger sister.

At the time of the incident, Chang and Liu were on a European trip after graduating from the University of Illinois.

Bohling admitted in court to murder, rape with fatal consequences, attempted murder, and possession of child porn. The Daily Mail reported that defendants in Germany do not enter formal pleas.

A verdict is expected in March.
