Florida Man Beats Grandparents to Death in Home Where They Let Him Live

A Florida man has been charged with beating his grandparents to death in their Escambia County home last week.

Deputies were called the couple’s home on Thursday by family members who hadn’t heard from them in a few days and found a “horrific scene” inside, WEAR reported.

Deputies said the couple, both in their 60s, were found in separate rooms and died from blunt force trauma.

Jordon King, a 24-year-old US citizen who lived with his grandparents, was identified as a person of interest, and a search was launched.

“Someone called and said, ‘I think I know where this person is,'” Sheriff  Chip Simmons said. “He was on foot when we took him into custody without incident, and we brought him to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.”

According in Law&Crime, King had been released from prison on November 29, 2023, after serving tme on grand theft and burglary charges. Six days later, he was arrested for trespassing at a woman’s home. Court documents in that case say he told the woman “people were chasing him and that people were being abused.” He reportedly told investigators that someone in the Bloods gang was chasing him and that he repeatedly “change(d) the subject and ramble(d) on about a bunch of different topics,” police wrote.

He pleaded no content in that case on February 15 and was sentenced to a year of probation.
