Thief Targets Women in 4-Hour Crime Spree, Rapes One of Them

A Connecticut man has been arrested after he allegedly robbed three women in a four-hour period, raping one of them.

Bridgeport Police sid the Cecil Mills, 35, was taken into custody at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday after he allegedly crashed his vehicle during a pursuit and then ran from the scene, WFSB reported.

“Mills crashed into multiple vehicles during the pursuit,” Det. Jeffrey Holtz said. “One of those accidents resulted in minor injuries.”

The victim Mills allegedly raped was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries.

“The victims all report being followed by what turned out to be a stolen Toyota Camry, prior to being robbed and assaulted,” said Holtz. “The suspect’s clothing descriptions, given to responding officers by the victims, were also similar.”

Holtz said Mills reportedly rammed a fourth victim from behind in Seaside Park but fled when the victim refused to stop her car.

The first robbery took place at about 7 a.m., police said. The second — which included the rape — happened at about 10:25 a.m. The third happened at about 11:15 a.m.

The victims ranged in age from 22 to 52, police said, and Mills allegedly took cash, cell phones, and other electronics, many of which were found in the stolen Camry after the crash. Police said they also found a “significant quantity” of narcotics.

Holtz said that Mills crashed into several vehicles during the pursuit. A driver was injured in one of them.

Mills faces more than a dozen charges, including assault, sexual assault, robbery, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, evading respondibility, and interfering with a police officers. His bonds totaled $177,500.
