Officials in Ohio have confirmed the identity of the body discovered Tuesday in Cuyahoga Falls as Chandra Maya Poudel-Rimal, a mother of three who vanished last Wednesday.
The Cuyahoga Falls Police Department has since issued warrants for the victim’s husband, identified as James Rimal, on charges including murder, strangulation, tampering with evidence, domestic violence, making false alarms, and abuse of a corpse.
Rimal is currently hospitalized, as CrimeOnline previously reported, and not a threat to public safety,
On Tuesday, state and local authorities cordoned off the crime scene investigation area where they found Poudel-Rimal’s body. Akron Beacon Journal reports that investigators discovered her body in woods off Middlebury Road “along the Summit-Portage line.”
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office said the death appeared to be suspicious, and an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
“It’s a shame,” the couple’s neighbor, Dave Stuhltreher, told 19 News. “I mean we’re all just trying to figure out why in the world this happened. We’re all in shock.”
“The family is very quiet,” Struhltreher said. “We see the kids playing in the street sometimes. We’ve had a community picnic out in the street a few years ago. We’ve only seen the husband maybe once, maybe twice mowing the lawn.
