3 Women Killed by Drunk Driver on Way Home from Baby Shower

A drunk driver killed three women returning home from a baby shower in California over the weekend.

Victor Siharath, 36, has been charged with three counts of murder and one count of DUI in the collision, which was captured on surveillance video, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said.

The victims were identified by family members as Yesenia Olaez,33; Lorena Morales; and Alejandra Olaez; 33. Two other people were in the car — Moreles’s husband Juan Manuel “Jaime” Garcia and Alejandra Olaez’s 12-year-old daughter Noemi Olaez. Garcie was in critical condition at the hospiatl and the girl was in intensive care, according to KABC.

Witnesses said Siharath ran a red light just before the crash. Gascón said he was traveling “well above the speed limit of 35 miles per hour.”

Siharath faces a maximum of life in prison if convicted. He is being held without bond and due back in court on March 28. The DUI was his second.

Relatives told KABC Yesinia Olaez was in the process of adopting her 11-year-old nephew, Brian Gonzalez, who said she was “a loving mother.”
