Kentucky Cops Charge Parents With Child Abuse in Baby’s Death Last Year

A Kentucky couple has been arrested for the death of their two month old son last year.

An arrest report says that Lexington police found the infant with “deep bite marks on his extremities and internal bleeding in his skull, eyes and scalp,” WLEX reported.

The report says Chendra Magar told officers he drank alcohol every day when he was home with the baby and never noticed any injuries.

The mother, Rahar Maya Rai, told police she left the baby alone with her 4-year-old child and said she “caught” the older child abusing the baby a week before his death but did not seek medical attention.

Magar and Rai were charged with second degree child abuse. Police did not say why it took from last June until March 2024 to arrest them or why they didn’t charge the parents with the baby’s death.
