California Woman Missing, Car Found Abandoned in Arizona Desert

Police in Arizona and California are searching for a 27-year-old woman who disappeared late last month.

Amanda Nenigar’s car was found abandoned in the Arizona desert a week after she was last seen, on February 28 in Blythe, California, KPHO reported.

Family members found Nenigar’s Toyota Camry in La Paz County, Arizona, about 45 minutes from her home in the Blythe area. Oddly, La Paz County Sheriff William Ponce said, the car was found with its rear end “on a large boulder.”

Nenigar frequently drives into La Paz County, Ponce said, because she had family there.

When you have a vehicle that’s abandoned and you don’t have kind of inkling where the person has gone or anything, it all seems very odd to us and it’s very concerning,” he said.

Ponce said Nenigar made a 911 call in California the day before she disappeared and reported being stuck in a ditch

“We do know that there was a 911 call that went to the El Centro, California highway patrol station around that time frame stating that she was in Anza and in route to the Palm Springs area,” he said.

She never arrived in Palm Springs. The sheriff did not say if anyone responded to the 911 call or whether she was seen at that time.

Nenigar was last seen wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt, black leggings, and black and white tennis shoes. She has a scar on her cheek, and a rose tattoo on her right hand and may be wearing a thin bracelet and carrying a pink purse. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information, should call the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office at 928-669-6141 or the Blythe Police Department at 760-922-6111.
