A man is in critical condition after he was shot multiple times during an argument on the basketball court of a Maryland LA Fitness gym.

Glenarden Police said they were called to the Lanham gym at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday, WTTG reported. Two men were involved in an argument on the basketball court, they said, when one of them pulled a gun and shot the other man six or seven times.

The gunman fled the scene in a white vehicle.

Multiple people witnessed the shooting, as the gym was open at the time. It will be closed on Friday.

Police said the identity of the shooter isn’t known.
