A 7-year-old girl was shot and is in critical condition after she was caught in the crossfire of a shooting inside a Baltimore mall Saturday afternoon.

Police said two groups of people had some kind of altercation at about 1:30 p.m., prompting a man to pull out a gun and start shooting as he cowardly ran away, WMAR reported.

The little girl, shopping at Mondawmin Mall with her mother, was hit twice.

The gunman got away.

The girl was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors stabilized her but said she remained in critical condition.
