Florida Man Guns Down Wife, Chases Ambulance in His Cadillac

A Florida man was arrested this week after he gunned down his wife at his parents house and then chased the ambulance taking her to a hsopital in his Cadillac.

Devin Hansen, 28, has been charged with first degree murder, domestic battery, fleeing and eluding, and obstructing justice, according to jail records. He was ordered held without bond at a court appearance on Thursday, WFLA reported.

“So I have to stay in custody?” the killer asked the judge.

“Yes, sir,” the judge replied.

St Petersburg Police said Hansen got into an argument with his wife, Yasmin Grijalva, and shot her at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. By the time police arrived, Hansen had fled the scene in his black Cadillac.

First responders loaded Grijalva into and ambulance and headed for a hospital, but the officer riding with her noticed the black Cadillac following them down the interstate.

“We knew he was armed,” said St Petersburg Police spokesperson Yolanda Fernandez. “He was dangerous. He was violent, and he was following very closely. That was considered a threat, an issue.”

“That’s when our officers tried to pull him over and he took off,” she added.

Officers pursued Hansen, and he left the interstate before crashing onto landscaping rocks. He was taken into custody.

Grijalva was pronounced dead at the hospital.
