Georgia Youth Pastor Charged With Internet Sex Crimes With a Minor

A Georgia Baptist youth pastor has been arrested and charged with obscene internet contact with a minor.

Candler County deputies arrested Benjamin Dalton Houser on April 26 and jailed him on a $50,000 cash bond.

He was affiliated with Cedar Street Baptist Church in Metter, WTOC reported. The church has not returned the station’s request for comment.

Without providing detail, the sheriff’s office said deputies responded to the church late last month and met with church leadership regarding possible crimes against children. The sheriff’s office handed the investigation over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Houser has been ordered to have no contact with anyone involved in the case.
