Houston Police Identify Suspect in Shooting Death of Lawyer Who Intervened in McDonald’s Dispute

A suspect has been identified in the shooting death of a Houston lawyer who intervened in a dispute between a McDonald’s customer and staff.

The irate customer has been named by Houston police as 57-year-old Anthony Martin Landry. He has been charged with murder.

Investigators say Landry shot 46-year-old Jeffrey Limmer on Saturday when Limmer stepped into the middle of Landry’s angry dispute with staff at the fast food restaurant over his order, as CrimeOnline reported. Landry allegedly turned his ire toward Limmer, who shoved him to the ground when they went outside. The suspect went to his truck, pulled out a gun, and shot Limmer twice.

Limmer was pronounced dead on the scene. The suspect fled in his blue, early 2000s Ford pickup truck.

Limmer’s family said he was always trying to help out in situations like that he faced at McDonald’s.

He was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and South Texas College of Law and worked for the Houston law firm of Lewis Brisbois.

Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to Landry’s arrest and conviction, police said.
