A search is underway in Ohio after a 6-year-old reportedly vanished on Thursday.

Pike County police said Airies Flanery possibly wandered from her Piketon home. Family members told WBNS that Flanery’s mother died a few years ago, and the girl would take off while “looking for mommy.”

Family also said Flanery gravitated to water in a wooded area behind her home. They also claimed she may have taken her cat with her, according to WBNS.

Flanery was described as standing 4 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 50 or 60 pounds, and having red hair and blue eyes. She was reportedly last seen wearing a long-sleeved, tie-dyed shirt, dark blue pants, and rainbow-colored Crocs.

Anyone with information regarding Flanery’s whereabouts is asked to call the Pike County Sheriff’s Office at 740-947-2111.
