Murder Suspect Stabs 6 – Included 4 Children – in Massachusets Before Fiery Car Crash

A Connecticut murder suspect was arrested in Massachusetts Saturday evening after he reportedly stabbed six people — four of them children — and then crashed his car fleeing from police on Cape Cod.

The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, but his identity has not been released, WBTS reported. Sources identified him as Jared Christian Ravizza, however.

According to WVIT, Connecticut State Police responded to a disturbance at a house in Deep River at 3:30 Saturday afternoon and found a body. The identity of that victim has not been released, but state police said the suspect was taken into custody in Massachusetts after the stabbings at an AMC Theatre in Braintree and a McDonald’s at a Park and Ride in Plymouth.

Four children, ranging in age from 9 to 17, were the victims at the theatre in Braintree, nearly two hours by car from Deep River. Police said the suspect walked into the theatre at about 6 p.m., bypassed the ticket and concessions counters and walked into a theatre showing the movie “If,” WCVB reported.

“Without saying anything and without any warning, he suddenly attacked and stabbed the four young females,” police said. “The attack appeared to be unprovoked. After the attack, the man ran out of the theater and left in a vehicle.”

The four victims were taken to a hospital in Boston with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police recovered video footage showing the suspect leaving the scene in a black SUV and sent the license plate to law enforcement agencies around the area, WBTS said.

About an hour later, police in Plymouth began receiving calls saying that man had entered a McDonald’s on Route 3 and stabbed two people, a 21 year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, according to the Cape Code Times. The two victims were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Massachusetts State Police located a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle of the Plymouth suspect about 20 miles away in Sandwich. Troopers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled the scene and crashed shortly afterward, with the black SUV bursting into flames.

The driver was taken into custody.

Investigators have not said what charges the man faces.
