South Carolina Parents Sell 14-Year-Old Daughter For Sex to 67-Year-Old Man for $20

A South Carolina couple have been charged with trafficking their 14-year-old daughter to a 67-year-old man for sex for $20 every time he called for her.

James Wilson and April Lawrence were charged with human trafficking of a victim under 18, according to jail records. They’re being held without bond

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said that Wilson and Lawrence used their daughter as “currency” and ultimately made about $1,300 in a month trafficking the girl to the man in Greenville County, The Davidsonian said. That’s 65 rapes in a month.

The man paid them via CashApp.

The sheriff’s office said Wilson continued to take the girl to be raped even after she said she didn’t want to go, WSPA said.

The sheriff’s office said William Barendsen has been charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor for “taking advantage” of the couple’s offer to traffic their daughter. They did not specifically say he was the man who repeatedly raped the girl.

He is not currently listed on jail records in either Greenville County or Anderson County, and it’s not clear if he has been found.

Investigators have not said what happened to the girl or her siblings.
