A 6-year-old Maryland boy shot at a neighborhood Fourth of July celebartion died from his injuries late Saturday night.
Two adults, a man and a woman, were wounded in the shooting but not seriously, the Prince George’s County Police Department said.
Police were called to the scene just before 8 p.m. on Thursday and found Ahsan Julian Payton suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
Homicide detectives are “actively working” to identify a suspect and motive in the shooting but did not indicate they had anything, police said.
