A California toddler has been hospitalized after his 17-year-old brother stabbed him early Saturday morning and tried to strangle their mother.

Visalia Police say the suspect’s stepfather pulled him away from his mother, and he fled the scene.

Officers later found him and booked him on two counts of attempted murder.

The 2-year-old boy was stabbed multiple times and taken to Valley Children’s Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

Police did not reveal a motive for the brutal attack or the names of anyone involved.
