Seattle Mom Beats 14-Year-Old Son To Death With Extension Cord Because He Didn’t Do Chores

A 29-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of homicide after she allegedly beat her 14-year-old son to death with an extension cord when he didn’t complete his chores.

Seattle Police said they responded to the scene Thursday afternoon and found the boy suffering from multiple injuries. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in criticial condition but did not survived.

A police report on the incident said that the mother “was spanking him with an extension cord, and it went to far,” KOMO reported.

[Mother] stated that [son] did not complete his chores, and she was angry,” the report said. “[Mother] told him it was ‘butt cutting time.’ [Mother] ordered [son] to remove his clothing and used an extension cord to strike him.”

The report further said that she shoved him against the wall, where he struck his head and fell to the floor limp, but she “continued to eat [son] while he was on the floor.”

“[Mother] ordered [son] to stand, which he complied,” the report said. “[Mother] continued to beat [son] for approximately an hour.”

The woman has not been named because she has not been formally charged. She refused to attend a bail hearing on Friday, but her public defender argued for her release, citing the “significant trauma she is experiencing from” the death of her son.

The judge agreed with prosecutors and set a $3 million bail. Prosecutors said formal charges should be filed by Tuesday.
