Missouri Woman Targets Exes Over Custody Issues, Cops Say

A Missouri woman has been charged witha multi-state shooting spree that included her ex-husband , another man who was the father of one of her children, and that man’s partne.

Taylor Santiago is due in court Monday for a bond hearing in Lawrence County, Missouri, KYTV reported.

She is charged there with fatally shooting Troy Huffman, her former husband. Their son was at the apartment at the time of the shooting but was not physically harmed.

From there, Santiago allegedly drove 55 miles to Carroll County, Arkansas, where she shot the father of a daughter and his partner. The man, who has not been named, remains in critical condition in a hospital, but his partner, Sophia Williams, was killed.

The daughter was not physically harmed. Williams’ sister, Calista Abernathy, said she shared a child with Santiago’s former partner and had other children.

Investigators say Santiago was motivated by custody issues regarding the children.

An affidavit in Missouri says that Santiago told investigators she invited Huffman over under the pretense of seeing her 12-year-old child, PEOPLE reported. She then told the child she was going to “take care of the bad guys” and to cover his ears. She then shot Huffman twice, took his car keys and drove to Arkansas.

She is charged with  first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child in Missouri. Charges in Arkansas are still pending.
