A former Texas pastor out on bond after being charged with indecency with a child in 2023 has been arrest again, this time for allegedly raping a child.
Timothy Daniel Nall, 70, paid a $50,000 bond and walked free the day he was arrested in 2023. Nall was arrested on Saturday for the latest charges and paid a $100,000 bond the next day, KLTV reported.
Nall was the head pastor of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Mineola when he was arrested the first time, and court documents say the latest charges stem from incidents before the first charges, and the child’s family were members.
The arrest affidavit said the child involved in the latest charges discussed the alleged incidents during counseling sessions. The document details statements the child gave and said the child identified Nall via pictures.
The children involved in both cases reported being lured into Nall’s church office with candy.
In the 2023 case, Nall was reportedly witnessed by a member of his congregation inappropriately touching a 4-year-old girl, who was a member of the congregation as well. The member who witnessed the touching then questioned her own children about Nall’s behavior and learned from her 4-year-old daughter that the pastor had touched her a few days earlier.
According to the Longview News-Journal, the incidents involve different children.
The latest charges stem from incidents that took place in the fall of 2022, KYTX reported, and were uncovered during counseling sessions. The parents told investigators that they had noticed unusual behavior at home starting around that time.
In the counseling sessions, the girl said that there was “a bad guy who touches her belly,” and she told her mother the man touched her “all over” and she was afraid of him. She reportedly said she believed if she told what happened she would be locked in the church office and never see her parents again.
Nall, serving as pastor of Farmington Baptist Church in Corinth, Mississippi, was charged with sexual battery of a teen girl in June 2013, WMC reported. A year later, he was indicted on sexual battery and fondling charges, accuses of using his finger to rape a 6-year-old child, WAPT reported.
The outcome of those cases is unclear, but neither the outcome nor the allegations stopped him from being hired again as a pastor.
