Pennsylavania Man Seen on Video Assaulting Man at VFW Caught More Than a Month Later

Aliquippa Police said Brett Ours, 39, gave up after “a short standoff” at a home in West Aliquippa shortly before 6 p.m.

Ours was wanted for the January 5 assault at a VFW bar, which was caught on video, n. Police said that the victim, later identified as Preston Coleman, was “viciously attacked and strangled” for about 30 minutes, periodically taking breaks before returning to beat Coleman further. Police said the attack was unprovoked.

Ours has been charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, strangulation, possessing instruments of a crime, and simple assault.

A few days after the assault, another man identified as joining in on the attack turned himself in, WTAE reported. Ron Brown was charged with  aggravated assault, simple assault, and liability for the conduct of another.

Coleman, the victim, remains hospitalized.
