A 21-year-old Florida man was arrested for stabbing a juvenile at a party, and his mother was charged with tampering after ordering witnesses to delete video of the attack.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office said the victim’s friends called 911 at about 10 p.m. Saturday while en route to the hospital. Deputies met up with them at Grady Brown Park, and Walton Fire Rescue took the victim the rest of the way to the hospital.
Meanwhile, more calls came in about the incident, and deputies responded to the scene, where they interviewed witnesses and viewed video.
Everyone identified John Byron Kingkade as the man who stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife. He was arrested on charges of aggravated battery and aggravated child abuse.
Krystal Rabon Kingkade, the suspect’s 41-year-old mother, was also arrested after police learned she’d told witnesses to delete their cell phone video.
John Kinkade was given a $500,000 bond and was still in jail. His mother was released Sunday on a $15,000 bond.
Police did not provide a motive for the attack or give an update on the condition of the victim, who was stabbed in the neck and head. They also didn’t say if they’d recovered the knife.
According to Law&Crime, John Kingkade’s father, who has the same name, was also arrested during the investigation for driving on an expired license when he drove away from the scene.
