Massachusetts Man Arrested After His Mother Found Dead on Floor of Home

A Massachusetts man was arrested on Tuesday after his mother was found dead on the floor of her Avon home.

Norfolk County District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said there were signs of a struggle, WCVB reported.

Thadeus A. Joseph, 22, was found a few miles away in Braintree, officials said. He is expected in court on Wednesday to face charges in the death of Astrid Joseph, 53. Police towed a car found in Braintree that they said belonged to family who lived at the home in Avon.

Morrissey said police were called to the home in Avon by “a household member about an unresponsive female in need of medical assistance,” WBZ said.

Thadeus Joseph was taken into custody about 8 p.m., the DA said, some four hours after the 911 call.

Neighbors said a man who lives at the Avon home was seen in the street crying as police arrived on the scene, according to WCVB.

Astrid Joseph was found with visible injuries, they said.
