A 24-year-old Tennessee man has been charged wth killing his mother at the home they shared in Unionville.
Bedford County deputies said they were called to the scene on Monday for a welfare check, but didn’t say who called them, and “made contact” with Curtis Colten Edwards.
“Further investigation led to the discovery of the body of a 58 year old female who also resided at the residence,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “It was determined that the female was the mother of Edwards and foul play was suspected.”
Investigators said they delayed announcement of the murder “until notifications could be made to family members” but still did not identify the victim or provide any information about how she died.
Edwards was charged with criminal homicide and is being held without bond.
