‘Gruesome’: Mom Fatally Stabbed Baby With Letter Opener While Giving Birth

A South Carolina woman is facing criminal charges for killing her newborn son last week and discarding his body in the trash.

Easley police who responded to an apartment on March 7 reportedly discovered An Ngo’s newborn son in a trash bag. Hours earlier, Ngo, 31, allegedly stabbed her son with a metal letter opener during birth and delivery, according to WXIA.

Afterward, Ngo allegedly cut the deceased baby’s umbilical cord and put his body in a trash bag in a different room.

“I will be honest with you: I’ve been doing this two and a half decades, and I’ve never seen anything this gruesome,” Easley police Chief Brandon Liner said, per WYFF. “I’ve never seen anything this bad.”

Ngo is charged with homicide by child abuse. She remains jailed without bond.
