Investigators in Georgia have arrested the ex-boyfriend of a woman found dead earlier this month in a private lake.
The body of 54-year-old Collette Sease was found on March 3 at the lake, on private property, in Covington, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office said. Police were initially called for a possible drowning but later determined that Sease had been murdered.
On Monday, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Walton County, where they arrested 53-year-old Travis Abbott for Sease’s murder. He was also charged with concealing a death.
Investigators have not said where or how Sease died, but Abbott is expected to be transferred to Newton County to face the charges. A man walking around the lake on March 3 found the body and called 911, according to The Covington News.
The investigation remains open, authorities said.
