An investigation is underway in New York after the bodies of a woman and her 7-year-old son were found on Wednesday.
The two decomposing bodies were found in a Brooklyn apartment after someone reported a foul smell. WABC reported that the 33-year-old woman and her son had no signs of trauma, and there was no evidence of forced entry.
“She never came out. She didn’t open the door for anybody. Never. Never opened the door for anybody. Even if you knocked, she never opened,” a neighbor said of the deceased woman.
Sources told WABC that the pair were discovered in a bedroom.
Officials have not publicly named the deceased mother and child. The medical examiner will perform autopsies to determine how they died.
