Missouri police arrested two men last week for sexual abuse involving one of the suspects’ 15-year-old daughter.
On Friday, Cole County officers responded to a Russellville residence where a drunk 15-year-old girl claimed she was 22. Upon learning the girl’s real age, the girl also told police that she lived with her father and boyfriend, Frederick Copping, 47, and Travis Kalchbrenner, 31, according to KMIZ.
Kalchbrenner, the alleged boyfriend, reportedly referred to the teen girl as his girlfriend. According to KMIZ, he explained that he met the girl three or four years ago and began talking to her again within the past year while he lived in Florida.
Kalchbrenner allegedly also told police that he corresponded with the girl over Discord, a messaging application, and frequently spoke with her father, Copping before coming to Missouri.
Copping reportedly confessed to driving to Florida with his daughter to pick up Kalchbrenner and bring him to Missouri to live with them. According to KMIZ, Copping also admitted to giving Kalchbrenner condoms.
Copping allegedly said that he believed Kalchbrenner was in his mid-20s — which is still statutory rape. He also stated that he brought Kalchbrenner to Missouri to live with him and his daughter because he “seemed like a nice guy,” KMIZ reported.
Kalchbrenner was charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, statutory rape, first-degree sexual abuse, and fourth-degree child molestation. Copping was charged with child abuse, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, first-degree accessory to rape, first-degree accessory to sodomy, second-degree accessory to statutory rape, first-degree accessory to sexual abuse, and fourth-degree accessory to child molestation.
Both men remain jailed without bond.
