A 2-year-old girl reportedly died on Wednesday in a hot car in Maryland.
The girl was found dead in a vehicle near Arcola Elementary School in Silver Spring. Sources told WJLA that the girl’s father dropped one child off at school but forgot to take the toddler to the babysitter’s — which became apparent hours later when she was found unresponsive in the car.
Officials have not publicly identified the toddler girl. They also have not confirmed whether she died due to being in the hot car.
If confirmed, the 2-year-old girl would be the second hot-car death this year. According to No Heat Stroke, 39 children died in hot cars last year.
