A body was found in the trunk of an impounded Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard on Monday.
KABC reported that the vehicle was registered in Texas to singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.
Los Angeles Police told the station the car had been at the impound lot for a couple days before employees noted a foul odor and called them to investigation shortly after noon on Monday. According to KNBC, the vehicle was impounded after it was reported abandoned.
The body was inside a bag in the front trunk, KABC said.
D4vd is in the midst of his “Withered” world tour, supporting his debut album, that started last month. He is scheduled to perform in Minneapolis on Tuesday, and the tour ends back in Los Angeles on September 20.
Law enforcement sources told NBC News that the remains inside the bag were not intact and that they were in a badly decomposed state. They said identification of the body may take some time.
A spokesperson for the singer told the network that he “has been informed about what’s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities.”
He is known for the songs “Here with Me” and “Romantic Homicide.”
