A man who allegedly raped children and spread HIV was captured by Tennessee authorities last week.
The U.S. Marshals Service said the Memphis Safe Task Force conducted a raid on Thursday in Bethel Grove which resulted in Derrick Cole’s arrest. WHBQ reported that a grand jury indicted Cole in August 2024 on charges of statutory rape by an authority figure, sexual battery by an authority figure, continuous sexual abuse of a child, incest, and criminal exposure to HIV.
Cole, 46, is HIV-positive and was accused of raping children, according to WMC. Additional details regarding the victims were not provided.
WATN reported that Cole’s bond was set at $500,000.
