Love Triangle May Have Led to Tennessee Woman’s Murder in North Georgia

A woman found dead and covered in blankets in north Georgia this week has been identified as a 20-year-old Tennessee woman.

Rome Police said that Kaylee B. Shackelford, from Powell just outside Knoxville, was found dead Tuesday afternoon. Police said Shackelford was in a relationship with Mystique Malachi Amaziah Taylor, 23, who is one of two people arrested in connection with her death.

Investigators believe that Taylor had also begun an online relationship with 25-year-old Rolanda Monique Edwards, who was also charged in connection with the murder.

Police said that witnesses reported seeing a red vehicle in the area just before the body was found. That vehicle was later located and stopped in neighboring Bartow County after a brief chase.

CrimeOnline previously reported that Taylor is charged with murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and a host of traffic-related offenses connected with the arrest. Edwards was charged with party to a crime, concealing the death of another, and hindering apprehension of a criminal.

Both are being held without bond in the Floyd County jail.

Taylor also had an arrest warrant in nearby Cobb County for a string of crimes on November 1. Court records say he tried to hit a woman with his car, then grabbed her by the hair and pulled her into the car. The two got into a verbal and physical fight at a nearby gas station, where he took her car keys and left the scene when he learned police were en route. It’s unknown if that person was Shackelford.

“This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and additional charges may follow,” Rome police said.
