A North Carolina nurse was arrested on Thursday for sexually assaulting two incapacitated patients.
WRAL reported that Duke Health nurse Jomil Uy Tugado, 39, assaulted a patient in May and another in December. Duke Health officials said Tugado was put on administrative leave on December 7, a day after the second alleged incident.
WTVD reported that both of Tugado’s victims were women.
Tugado was charged with sexual battery, sexual acts by a government or private institution employee, and sexual contact or penetration under the guise of medical treatment. WRAL reported that his nursing license, which was set to expire in 2027, was suspended following his arrest.
Tugado is due in court on Friday.
