A 27-year-old Las Vegas man was charged with the beating deaths of his parents after he called 911 and said he needed to be “taken in for murder.”
Court documents say Adrian Bailey called 911 around 11:30 p.m. and said he “couldn’t take it anymore” and had “killed them.” KLAS reports. Bailey told the dispatcher that “there was blood everywhere and that he did not mean to,” the documents say.
Police responded to the location of the 911 call, but Bailey wasn’t there, although they found Roger Bailey dead and his wife, Kristine Bailey, with “life-threatening injuries.” She was taken to a hospital, where she died.
Shortly after the first phone call, Bailey called again from a different location, this time telling the dispatcher that “officers need to kill him on sight.” Bailey said he was a danger to himself and others. When the dispatcher asked if he’d shot himself, he said “he hadn’t killed himself yet, but had ‘done some others.'”
According to the documents, Bailey told dispatch that he’d left the home without his glass and that he’d been drinking but had not used drugs. The police report said he was “hysterical” and killed his father because “he had enough abuse.”
Officers found him at about 11:45 p.m. at the second location and took him into custody. He had blood on his skin and clothing and requested an attorney during an interview.
Meanwhile, back at the crime scene, officers found a child-sized baseball bat covered in blood at the top of the stairs. Blood spatter was found on the stairs and in the living room, where the victims were found.
Bailey has been charged with two counts of open murder and two counts of first degree murder with a deadly weapon and was ordered held without bail. He was due back in court on Wednesday, but local media did not follow up on the hearing. Court records show he was granted a public defender and is due back in court in February.
