Police Kill Machete-Wielding Man, Find 3 More People Dead Inside Home

Police in New Jersey shot and killed a man who charged at them with a knife and then found three more people dead inside the home behind him.

According to WABC, Piscataway Police officers came to the home around 5:30 p.m. after receiving a call reporting a man with a knife. The knife-wielding man charged at them on arrival, and tasers failed to deter him.

The man kept coming at the officers, who shot and killed him.

When officers went inside the home, they found three more people dead. Law enforcement sources said two of them were grandparents but did not say who the grandchildren were or describe the relationship of any of the people involved.

Sources told WNYW that the weapon involved was “specifically” a machete.

New Jersey State Police Benevolent Association President Peter Andreyev released a statement confirming that “all our members that were involved are ok and being evaluated.”
